Founded by Funny Lie Lady, Laurie Ayers, The Silver Comedy Tour is a social initiative of professional comedians 50+ years old that aims to enrich the lives of older people through actively engaging them in comedy performances and workshops.

We seek to:
- Provide a relaxed welcoming environment for people to have fun and share laughter
- Reduce social isolation
- Challenge stereotypes associated with aging
We work throughout the US, mainly Midwest, and with any kind of older people’s group, including veterans’ groups, Red Hat Society, class reunions, country clubs, retirement and anniversary celebrations, day centers, senior community centers, supported housing and care homes such as assisted living, memory care facilities, and nursing homes.
Silver Comedy Tour Professional Stand-Up Comedians
Interested in hosting an afternoon senior comedy performance by Silver Comedy Tour professional comedians? All the SCT standup comedians have been around the block a few times and are at least 50 years old. Many have been performing for decades, and others started their comedy careers later in life (FYI: Rodney Dangerfield started in his mid-40s)
You’re never too old to laugh. Their clean comedy is age appropriate and relatable to older spectators. They will bring back fond memories from yesteryear and leave audiences in stitches.
Interactive Comedy Engagement Sessions
Silver Comedy Tour workshops are interactive comedy engagement sessions that feature a standup comedian course and that often lead to live performances. Participants can cross this off their bucket list or enjoy a new hobby in performing comedy.
The comedians quickly build a rapport with participants so that everyone feels comfortable, and the laughter will soon be flowing around the facility. Participants really look forward to the Silver Comedy Tour workshops because they can laugh and forget any challenges or problems for a little while.
Our professional stand ups and comedy facilitators work with groups of older people and relevant organizations to enhance older people’s wellbeing, counteract loneliness, increase self-confidence, and develop people’s comedy skills while also exercising memory. Silver Comedy Tour interactive comedy engagement sessions usually last around two hours and they generally take place over a morning or afternoon. The workshop often concludes a few days later with a showcase performance by the participants.
These are regularly undertaken at senior community and day care centers, supported housing and care homes. Wherever possible we like to actively involve staff and volunteers in these sessions. We can work with both small and large groups of people at these sessions – they tend to vary in size from between around 10-40 participants.
For those who are bitten by the comedy bug and want to continue the journey, we offer Comedy Companion Coaches to work one on one with individuals to help them write their own comedy material.
