Hi, my daughter and I were discussing the safety secret word and weren't sure how to use it; now we do thank you. However, my daughter said why can't i just say so and so is picking you up today( (this would be someone the child knows), I said beccause a stranger can say your mom told me to pick you up, especially if he doesn't know this person. What if there was no one to pick the child up, the mom was in a coma, no family/friend info so who would go get the child? I guess the police and hope he is a real one? thanks

Rule # 1-the toilet seat covers are a must-use. Pathogens exist everywhere. They also make great signals for distress when set aflame and thrown of a perp who smolders until aid arrives.

I'm guilty...i jog/walk/bicycle alone
unless you wanna come do it with me I have nobody else that will
BUT, I never wear earplugs (good thing I cant stand things in my ears)
I go on a public well traveled route (my neighborhood where its house after house and main roads w/lots of traffic) and I go at different times of day/night so no 'routine' that someone could scope out.
sorry can't do it not alone since I have nobody to do it with :(

Wow you hit it spot on!
Thus, the reason I dont go to the beach (even w/dd being teen now) unless I go solo.
or if DD and I go, we walk together, etc...but I can't remember last time I 'laid' there and did nothing...
Went to beach today briefly and even w/the red flags flying and lifeguards pulling people out cuz' of riptides today many parents/grandparents were oblivious to little ones -- it's sad

Hey, Laurie. I know exactly what you are talking about. I have always been very watchful of my children, always keeping on eye on where they are and what they are doing. Even at things like family and church functions - you just never know what can happen.

Right now, the church we are attending is meeting at a hotel in the only large room that they have. The restrooms are right across the hall from the door of this room - probably only about 10 feet away. I still do not let my 9 YOB leave and go out the big doors to the bathroom alone. Even my 12 YOG, if the doors are closed during the service, she either waits until they are open and I can see the restrooms, or I go with her.

I don't consider myself over protective. I consider myself a watchful parent.

Love ya!

Kelly
